Meet the Vienna Data Science Group board members who keep the nonprofit community running.
VDSG is organized as a volunteer-run nonprofit association. The board coordinates the association, supports public events, and keeps the community infrastructure available for members, speakers, partners, and hosts.

Our mission
VDSG promotes data science, machine learning, analytics, and AI as forces for practical innovation, education, competitiveness, and social progress. At the same time, we encourage transparent and critical discussion about the risks, limits, and responsibilities that come with data-driven technologies.
Our guiding principle is simple: data and AI should serve people responsibly and transparently, and create value for society and the economy.
Deputy chairperson
Florian Thürk
Florian supports the chairperson and helps coordinate VDSG board work and community activities. He is a Senior Solutions Architect at Cloudera, where he works with customers to design complex big-data solutions and integrate cloud-native architectures into their environments.

Francesca supports VDSG board coordination and helps maintain the association’s community work.

Zoltan Toth
Zoltan oversees VDSG treasury topics and supports the community with data architecture and AI expertise.

Georg Heiler
Georg is a co-founder at Jubust, a Senior Data Expert at Magenta, and an ML-ops engineer at ASCII. He solves challenging data problems and builds data-intensive organizations, with interests in geospatial graphs and time series.
At VDSG, he supports infrastructure, content, and independent community formats.
