This session looks at where Knowledge-Based Systems and Model Context Protocol deployments are useful in practice, where they are easy to overstate, and what implementation tradeoffs teams should understand before adopting them.
Knowledge Based Systems Manuel Pasieka, AI Solution Architect @ Pasieka AI Solutions
Knowledge-based systems are reasoning systems that can combine structured and unstructured data. This talk explores variants from RAG-based question answering to AI agent platforms used for business process automation.
Pasieka Manuel is the CEO of Pasieka AI Solutions, that helps companies to succeed with their AI Projects, providing strategic and technical consultancy. He has a background in machine learning and distributed systems, applying both in academia and industry. In addition, Manuel hosts the Austrian Artificial Intelligence Podcast, that explores the Austrian AI Landscape through expert interviews.
MCPs - The Good Parts Zoltan Toth, Data Architecture and AI Integration expert
Model Context Protocol is widely discussed in current AI tooling. This talk gives a short introduction and shows a hands-on MCP deployment, including common pitfalls and the cases where the protocol can help.
Zoltan C. Toth is a Data Architecture and AI Integration expert with over 20 years in the field who combines hands-on engineering experience with instructional work. As a consultant for Fortune 500 companies and Professor of Practice at Central European University, he helps organizations navigate the challenges of implementing modern data and AI solutions.
